Travel Compression Socks

Traveling long distances for for long periods of time either by car, truck or plane can be very boring, tiring and dangerous. Yes, traveling long distances and sitting down for long periods of time isn't just boring and time consuming but it can also be bad for your health.

One of the reasons why you feel so fatigued while you are on that eight hour flight or drive is that gravity is pulling your blood down towards your feet. Sitting is not the same as ling down. When you are asleep you are ling down in a stationary position for a long period of time but it isn't the same. When you are asleep your body is horizontal or all at the same level, therefor gravity can not pull the blood to one particular part of the body. The occasional night movement and our blood is properly circulating. When you are sitting down your body won't have any trouble pumping blood from the heart to the feet but it may have a problem properly getting the blood back up to the heart. This can lead to poor blood circulation leading to fatigue, leg cramping or spasming and even worse.

If the blood can not leave the foot as fast as it is coming in it can lead to blood pooling which in turn can lead to blood clotting which is a first class ticket to a heart attack or a stroke. This is something that I am sure that you all would like to avoid, I know I would. So what are you going to do. Stop taking vacations? Are you going to quit your job? These are all drastic measures that I'm sure non of you are willing to take. There is another way that you can easily increase your blood circulation and help to avoid any type of blood clotting and or pooling in your feet.

Travel compression socks are medically proven to help alleviate blood pooling in the feet. Asking how these socks work is a bit of a silly question and the answer is right in their name. Compression socks simply compress your foot and lower leg. If it's that simple why not just tie a rubber band around your leg.. it's much cheaper right? Well compression socks are a bit more intricate then just stopping blood from flowing to your feet as that would cause another unwanted health problem and we want to avoid any kind of unnecessary health problems, right?

The way that travel compression socks work is the compress your feet and legs in a way that slightly decreases the flow of blood to the foot while allowing for maximum circulation from the foot to the heart. This sort of compensates for gravities effect on our body. The sock will be tightest around the foot and ankle and slowly become looser the higher up the leg it goes, creating a come like compression pattern. That is basically how travel compression socks work. Pretty simple, right? Simple but well worth investing in.

If you spend long hours sitting down, I highly suggest that you at least take a look of the large array of compression socks that are available to buy either at your local health clothing store or online. It is a solid investment in your health and wellbeing.
