Michael Vick was released from Leavenworth medium security prison today, after serving a 23 month sentence for "dogfighting". He left the prison headed for home in Hampton, Virginia, where he will begin his supervised home confinement.
Vick pleaded guilty back in 2007 to running an illegal dogfighting business from one of his residences in Virginia. This of course caused a huge media swarm centered around the evils of animal cruelty.
The former quarterback was the no.1 NFL draft pick in 2001 and went All-pro 3 times when he played for the Falcons. According to his lawyer he wishes to play professional football again.
I'm sorry, but if I was making a small fortune doing something I loved, like playing football, I don't think I'd risk it all by running an illegal business. Another question is, how does one even go about starting a dogfighting business? Oh how the mighty have fallen...

I am a federal law enforcement officer and I work at USP Leavenworth (federal prison) Kansas. This is the same place where Mike Vick did his time for cruelty to animals. Last week one of my co-workers another federal law enforcement officer, ordered 2 inmates to kill stray cats that are located on the prison property by drowning them in the ponds which are located on the prison grounds. I know for a fact the other staff members and the inmates involved have come forward and gave there information to the Management at the prison. I know for a fact that they took pictures of the dead cats during their investigation. The staff member that ordered the inmates to do this horrible crime also supervised Mike Vick when he did his time here. This is wrong on so many levels… Cruelty to animals, Inmate Abuse and the abuse of Authority.
The prison is trying to cover this story up.. Somebody has to do something… This is so wrong..
Thank You
